Whenever I see peach rings I think of Jordan and get this sad feeling in my gut. I don’t know. It’s the weirdest thing because 1,00 other food could remind me of her more and make me miss her more, but somehow peach rings are the thing that really get to me. They make me miss her the same way driving past her house does or listening to that Eels song does. It’s one of the saddest things, to miss someone so badly over something so minuscule, but you know you always will. They’ll always be connected to you in the strangest of places.

Mom: are you ready to leave

Me: yeah hold on

5 minutes later

Me: Okay I'm ready

Mom: Okay, but first I have to curl my hair, walk the dogs, watch Gone With The Wind, read this novel, cook enough food for the entire country of Africa, run a 5k marathon, write out my life story by hand, and take a nap

“I’m just so sick of these young girls with diets. I remember when I was 13 and it was cool to pretend to have an eating disorder because there were rumors that Lindsay Lohan and Nicole Richie were anorexic. I thought it was crazy. I went home and told my mom, ‘Nobody’s eating bread—I just had to finish everyone’s burgers.’ I think it’s really important for girls to have people to look up to and to feel good about themselves.”
